I personally have been working with a team of more than 15 mentors in 7 countries, that have been reviewing and interacting with most of the students that have presented proposals at the two projects that were choosed by Google among other 170 organizations around the world for GSoC 2016, The Physical Web project and the Liquid Galaxy project,
Also I have the opportunity to spread the word of GSoC with four presentations at Universities from Valencia, Lleida, Ankara (Turkey), and also past GSoC students at the Scientific Park of Lleida:

Now students that have been able to write a decent proposal and interact with his would be mentors, will wait until april 22th, date where Google will announce the students than will be accepted on this year GSoC.
Today, 25.3.2016 it's also a special day, because as Physical Web team says in Twitter an hour ago:
Today, the Physical Web will be turned on for 100% of all Android Chrome users (you'll need to relaunch Chrome)— Physical Web (@ThePhysicalWeb) 25 de marzo de 2016
So we will see soon a lot of nice projects with those Bluetooth Low Energy beacons and the new paradigm they represent for the web and the Internet of Things.
And of course, great new display interactions with the Liquid Galaxy project, here with some of past year GSoC students at the Liquid Galaxy LAB:
A special mention for the mentors: reviewing more than 150 applications, that have finalized in 91 final PDF applications, and interacting with people from around the globe, it's been a hard task, and I want to say thank you to the teams at: CryptULL (University La Laguna, Tenerife), University Western Sidney and End Point corp, NY.
Good luck for everybody !!
